Myspace vs real life

Ina a day and age where more and more people are becoming almost addicited to sites like Myspace and Facebook, a big question remains: Can you make "real" friends using these sites?

I recently wrote an article recalling my own Myspace journey, and I stated that as long as you were safe and smart it was indeed possible. I stand by that statement. I have met several great friends through this site. I have had the opportunity to cultivate several close friendships because of connections I have made on myspace. The one thing I wanted to add to the first article is that havinga "real life" friend is much more important than just having a myspcae friend. There has tobe more to the relationship than just comments and page views. If a person doesn't have you on their top 10, or comment all the time, or even deletes their account, if your friendship is solid in real life, none of these things will change it.
